About Your Trip

Beijing has been a center of power in China for more than one-thousand years. It’s one of the globe’s most venerable cities, and even amid its 21st-century zing it’s filled with incredible touchstones of Chinese history and traditional culture. Landmarks of breathtaking beauty and atmosphere abound, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Forbidden City, long the palatial haven of the Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors.

This Beijing exploration provides a fascinating overview of this huge and ancient capital’s heritage and spirit. On your guided city tour, you’ll visit the mesmerizingly beautiful garden mosaic of the Summer Palace (another UNESCO World Heritage Site established during the Qing Dynasty), swing by Tiananmen Square, tour Beijing’s famous alleys (hutongs) on a pedicab and take in a kung-fu performance. Your package also includes an excursion to the celebrated Wangfujing market, where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and a cultural show.

A child between the ages of 0-2 stays free when sharing existing bedding with 2 paid adults. A child between the ages of 3-11 is US$528 without extra bed or US$689 with extra bed when staying with 2 paid adults. A child age 12 or older is charged the adult rate.

Child’s pricing is based on age at time of travel.

There will be one English-speaking tour guide if there are 45 guests or less traveling. If there are more than 45 guests traveling, there will be either two English-speaking tour guides or one English-speaking tour guide and one Mandarin/Korean-speaking tour guide.

If you are traveling internationally to join this trip, please ensure that your passport is current and any required visa is obtained and valid. Many countries require passports and/or visas to be valid for a minimum of six months after the end date of this trip.

Itinerary

Itinerary is subject to change due to weather and traffic conditions.

Day 1: July 24

Arrive at airport and transfer to hotel.
Check in to hotel at 3 p.m.
7 p.m.: Welcome dinner with Peking Duck at hotel.
Welcome reception with one hour of unlimited local beer, juice and soft drinks for 20 adults or more.

Day 2: July 25

Breakfast at the hotel.
9 a.m.: Visit to the Summer Palace, then visit Tiananmen in the afternoon along with the hutongs by pedicab and a kung-fu performance.
Chinese lunch at local restaurant
Dinner on your own. 

Day 3: July 26

Breakfast at the hotel.
A day at your leisure until evening. (Optional tours are available at your own expense.)
6 p.m.: Dinner at local restaurant with cultural show. After dinner, either take the tour bus back to hotel, or be dropped off at the Sanlitun Bar Street to enjoy your farewell night, after which you must arrange your own transfer back to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel.
Check out by 11 a.m. and transfer from hotel to airport.

Cancellation Policy: 91 days or more: $50 per person cancellation fee; 46 to 90 days out: $100 per person cancellation fee; 45 days or less: nonrefundable.
