Oktoberfest in Brazil

Revel in the culture and heritage of Southern Brazil, as well as one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the world.

About Your Trip

Discover the wonderful sights, engaging people and wildly eclectic culture of Brazil on this adults only DreamTrip to Florianópolis in the southern state of Santa Catarina. Stroll the city during a cultural walk to see popular sites including the Hercílio Bridge, Largo da Alfândega Square, Metropolitan Cathedral, XV de Novembro Square, Cruz e Souza Palace and the Municipal Public Market. Rev an ATV engine as you traverse the dunes between the beaches of Santinho and Ingleses, stopping at a fishing village along the way.

Enjoy a boat ride at Costa da Lagoa, relax and see the waterfall, then enjoy a boat ride across Lagoa da Conceição to visit the fishing village of Barra da Lagoa and enjoy some stand-up paddleboarding. Then head to Blumenau (Oktoberfest City), one of the country’s largest German settlements, to celebrate Oktoberfest and enjoy an artisanal beer tour. Move on to Santo Antônio de Lisbôa Beach to view the historic Azorean architecture facing the North Bay.

What we love:
• The New York Times and Newsweek named Florianópolis the “party destination of the year” in 2009 and “one of the 10 most dynamic cities in the world” in 2006, respectively.
• Aside from being known as “Brazil’s Oyster Capital,” Florianópolis also boasts the designation of UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
• The exciting Oktoberfest celebration in Blumenau is considered the biggest German festival in all of the Americas.

Check out this DreamTrip on Facebook.

This trip will close by August 19.

Destination

Florianópolis is the capital of Santa Catarina, a southern Brazilian state. Part of the city remains on Brazil's mainland, while the rest is an island located in the Atlantic Ocean. The island is home to 42 beaches and Lagoa da Conceição, its most popular tourist attraction. Visitors are treated to colonial architecture, coastal forests and locally sourced seafood.

Common activities in Florianópolis include water sports, museums of archaeology and history, wildlife watching in forested parks, boat tours, hiking and spending time on any one of the area’s beautiful beaches. Historic sites are also popular attractions, many of which are fortresses and military relics from the first Portuguese settlement of the island.
