Day 1
Check into the hotel any time after 2 p.m.
1-4 p.m.: Welcome table in the hotel lobby.
A day at your leisure.
Day 2
7-8 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
Full-day of touring; lunch and transportation included.
Morning:
- Guided horse drawn carriage tour (bilingual guide).

Visit La Casa de los Tres Mundos art gallery. Built in 1529, this
cultural academy turned into a convent of San Francisco church is
decorated with elegant paintings and pre- Columbian statues from
Zapatera Island.
- Visit Iglesia la Merced; climb the stairs up the tower to see great views of the city. Tour ends back at the hotel.
- Visit to the town of Masaya on the banks of Lake Masaya.
- Visit Nicaragua’s First National Park and Museum that offers interesting history and legends.
- Experience the finest Handicraft Market in Masaya; enjoy the creativity and a variety of Nicaraguan art at bargain prices.
1-2 p.m.: Lunch at the local restaurant “Mi Viejo Ranchito.”
Afternoon:
- Visit to the ancient highland villages of La Meseta to see the Mesa artisan's workshops of San Juan de Oriente and Masatepe.
- Return to Granada City.
- At your leisure the rest of the early evening until dinner time.
7 p.m.: A unique Welcome Dinner at El Zaguan (east side of Granada Cathedral), a short walk away (2 blocks from the hotel).
Day 3
7-8 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
Full-day of nature touring/hiking.
Morning:

Motor boat ride on Lake Nicaragua. Discover the 356 isletas (islands)
formed by the nearby (now extinct) Mombacho volcano. Observe the flora
and fauna, tropical birds and Isleños (inhabitants) who live peacefully
in simple yet decent conditions and dedicate themselves to fishing,
small agriculture and tourism. Return to the hotel.
- Mombacho Nature
Reserve Tour (meet in the lobby); visit the extinct Mombacho Volcano,
which is totally covered with vegetation and is home to a rich ecosystem
of 50 species of mammals, 174 species of birds, 30 species of reptiles
and 750 species of flora. On the hike to the volcano top, you’ll see
stunning views of the crater and its lush vegetation (and maybe hear or
see Howler monkeys), as well as the city of Granada, Masaya smoking
volcano, Lake Nicaragua and the Islands. Once at the top, you will hike
around one of the volcano’s 3 craters (about a 1-hour and 30-minute
hike).
12:30-1:30 p.m.: Lunch provided at the reserve.
Afternoon:

Zip Line Canopy Tour, located on the shores of Mombacho Volcano. This
tour offers you an unforgettable experience sliding down from tree to
tree through several platforms and bridges very safely built,
overlooking the coffee plantations.
The evening at your leisure.
Day 4
6:30-7 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning:
- Return to Catarina Village to see the Apoyo lagoon and Lake Nicaragua, Granada and the Masaya volcano.

Hike down inside the dry forest in the “caldera” of the extinct
volcano, which now hosts the beautiful Apoyo Lagoon. On the way to the
lagoon, observe birds and monkeys.
Lunch: at the small resort located in front of the lagoon.
- Swim in Nicaragua’s purest lagoon waters, in a beautiful natural environment.
- Return to Granada around 4 p.m.
Farewell
Dinner at Restaurante Las Colinas del Sur, a typical restaurant in
Granada and an enjoyable and funny place worth the stop! Located outside
the town center, this long established family restaurant lies under a
large thatched rancho (roof) and with dirt floor. The specialty there is
the Guapote, a rainbow bass always fresh from nearby Lake Nicaragua.
Transportation included.
Day 5
6-8 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.
Check out of the hotel by noon and transfer to Managua Airport.
