Stretching well over 14,000 square kilometers, Hwange National Park is larger than some countries. When you’re among 500 unique bird and mammal species, you never know what you’ll stumble upon in the grasslands of Zimbabwe’s largest game reserve.
Itinerary
Day 1
Check into the hotel any time after noon.
You will be greeted by managers and provided a welcome drink, a refresher towel and registration form. You’ll then be given an induction detailing important aspects of your stay at the Ivory Lodge.
Afternoon game drive, which will conclude with sundowner drinks and snacks overlooking the Dete Vlei. After sunset, you will return to camp and see some nocturnal animals along the way; includes transportation.
Welcome reception (meet-and-mix function 1 hour before dinner); includes welcome drink.
Welcome dinner at the Captain’s Table; includes local drink.
Day 2
Receive a packed breakfast before leaving for an early morning game drive in an open game drive vehicle.
Early morning game drive to Hwange National Park; includes wind breakers and fleece-lined ponchos to keep warm during the drive. Tea and coffee will be offered while overlooking the waterhole at Nyamandlvou Pan; includes transportation.
Two-course lunch at the hotel.
Free time before the Painted Dog Conservation Center Tour, which involves a short tour through the educational center and a visit to the rehabilitation center that is close by; includes transportation (entrance fees are by donation).
Afternoon game drive with sundowner drinks or return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure with snacks and sundowner drinks.

Airfare is not included in the trip price! The closest commercial airport to the hotel is Hwange National Park Airport (HWN). We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for any trip.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 46 days or more prior to your trip, you’ll get a full refund. If you cancel within 45 days of your trip, your trip will not be refunded.
Name Change Policy: If you change any name(s) on your booking 45 days or more before the start date of your trip, there will be no fee for the name change(s). If you change any name(s) on your booking 44 to 31 days before the start date of your trip, you’ll be charged a fee of US$50 per name change. Name changes are not permitted within 30 days of the start date of your trip.
Please Note: Requirements for entry into South Africa differ from country to country, and are subject to change. Always make enquiries before travelling to South Africa. New requirements for visiting South Africa – particularly for children – came into effect on 1 June 2015.
