Colombia is the only country in South America lucky enough to have coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Its location near the equator and in the Andes Mountains helps make Colombia one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, with 1,800 species of birds, 456 species of mammals and 314 types of ecosystems. Medellin is the 2nd-largest city in Colombia and is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” due to its mild climate. Bandeja paisa is one of the most well-known dishes of Colombia. This hearty meal features red beans, rice, ground beef, chorizo, plantain, arepa (a type of corn cake), avocado and chicharron (fried pork belly), topped with a fried egg. It is named after Paisas, people from the northwestern part of Colombia including Antioquia.

Day 1

Arrive at the airport and meet our representative for your transfer to the hotel (timing based on flight details provided).

2-8 p.m.: Visit the welcome table in the hotel lobby.

Day 2

6-7:45 a.m.: Buffet breakfast at the hotel's Diez restaurant.
8 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Half-day Medellin city tour; includes transportation.
• 8 a.m.: Depart from the hotel.
• Visit the Barefoot Park, Metropolitan Cathedral of Medellin and Cerro Nutibara, home to Pueblito Paisa.
• Continue north for a visit to the Park of Desires and Joaquin Antonio Uribe Botanical Garden.
• Take the Metrocable to the Santo Domingo station for panoramic city views.
• 1 p.m.: Return to the hotel.

Day 3

6-8:30 a.m.: Buffet breakfast at the hotel's Diez restaurant.
9 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Full-day Eastern Antioquia region tour; includes lunch, entrance fees and transportation.

• Pass through the towns of Marinilla and El Penol, home to the Penol-Guatape Reservoir.
• Optional climb to the top of La Piedra del Penol.
• Noon: Lunch at Los Recuerdos restaurant with 1 complimentary juice or soda. Alcoholic drinks are at your own expense.
• Visit Guatape.
• 5 p.m.: Return to the hotel.

• Take a walk on the Puente de Occidente suspension bridge over the Cauca River.

Cancellation Policy*: If you cancel 36 days or more before the start date of your trip, you’ll get a full refund. If you cancel within 35 days of the start date of your trip, your trip will not be refunded.

Name Change Policy: Name changes are not allowed on this trip.
