Galway is a scenic harbor city located at the convergence of the rapid River Corrib and the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors enjoy exploring the wide variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and markets that surround the square. The restored 16th-century Dunguaire Castle can be seen from Galway Bay’s rocky shores. Other attractions and nearby sightseeing spots include St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, the Spanish Arch, Galway City Museum and art galleries in the Latin Quarter, where sections of medieval wall still stand, adding to its Old World charm. Eyre Square, dating back to the 18th century, is also a memorial to U.S. President John F. Kennedy, famously of Irish descent.

On this DreamTrip to Galway, Ireland, Platinum Members will be treated to an additional dinner at the Oranmore Lodge Hotel on Day 2 of their stay. Life is great when you’re a Platinum Member!

Day 1

Check into the hotel any time after 3 p.m.
Noon – 5 p.m.: Visit the welcome table in the hotel lobby and reception area.
7 p.m.: Welcome reception at the hotel.

Day 2

7:30-8:45 a.m.: Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Please note: Breakfast is available until 10 a.m. for guests not attending the excursion.
9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Visit Aillwee Cave and Bunratty Castle; includes transportation and lunch.
     • Depart Galway and drive for approximately 2 hours, including a couple of photo stops.
     • Drive through the Burren National Park for views of alpine and arctic flora; a variety of bird species; and many prehistoric burial chambers, tombs and dolmens.
     • Visit Aillwee Cave, located in the heart of the Burren. Although it is one of the oldest caves in Ireland, it was just discovered in 1944. The tour includes a 30-minute stroll through the caverns, over bridged chasms, under eerie formations and alongside the thunderous waterfall which sometimes gently sprays the unsuspecting visitor. The cave system consists of over 0.62 miles (1 kilometer) of passages leading into the center of the mountain.
     • If you’d like, you can visit the Burren Bird of Prey Centre within the cave facilities. The mission of the Centre is to aid the conservation of Birds of Prey through visitor awareness and education, while actively fund raising for Raptor conservation monitoring efforts within Ireland.
     • Enjoy lunch with the group (included).
     • Visit Bunratty Castle, one of the most complete and authentic medieval castles in Ireland. Built in 1425 and plundered on many occasions, it was authentically restored in 1954 with furnishings and tapestries capturing the mood and style of the times. The Folk Park surrounding the Castle demonstrates everyday life in rural Ireland of the 19th century. It contains reconstructed farmhouses, cottages and shops, and great care has been taken to make its buildings and furnishings as authentic as possible.

Day 3

7:30-10 a.m.: Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
A day at your leisure.
6:30-8:30 p.m.: Farewell dinner at a local restaurant; includes transportation.

Day 4

7:30-10 a.m.: Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Check out of the hotel by noon.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 91 days or more before your trip, you’ll get a refund less a fee of US$50. If you cancel between 46 and 90 days before your trip, you’ll get a refund less a fee of US$100. If you cancel within 45 days of your trip, your trip will not be refunded. All fees are on a per-person basis.

Therefore, in the event of conflict between the cancellation policy displayed here and cancellation terms in supplier booking terms, the provisions of the booking terms will prevail.

Name Change Policy: If you change any name(s) on your booking 45 days or more before the start date of your trip, there will be no fee for the name change(s). If you change any name(s) on your booking 44 to 31 days before the start date of your trip, you’ll be charged a fee of US$50 per name change. Name changes are not permitted within 30 days of the start date of your trip.

Members can’t combine DreamTrips Points. Your membership level determines the maximum amount of DreamTrips Points you can use. If you have more than 50 Rovia Bucks, you can apply them in the checkout process.

Hotel/resort credits and/or discounts cannot be converted to cash, and any not used during your stay will expire immediately upon your departure. Member is responsible for paying any taxes that may be added to items purchased with hotel/resort credit.

In the unfortunate event that an activity or excursion is no longer available, we will substitute a similar activity of equal or greater value.

Make sure that your passport and visa, if applicable, are up-to-date before you leave! It’s important to double check that you have all the identification and other documentation required by the specific country you’re traveling to. In many countries, passports and visas must be valid for 6 months or longer after the trip end date. If you are unable to obtain the required identification and other documentation, the Cancellation Policy for this DreamTrip will apply.
