Relax in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon

Journey through vibrant Reykjavik and beyond to the relaxing Blue Lagoon geothermal spa and more in Iceland’s capital.

About Your Trip

Iceland, the Land of Fire and Ice, compels with its endless natural beauty of volcanic and glacial vistas on this DreamTrip for guests ages 16 years and older. From your stylish lodgings in historical downtown Reykjavik, travel to the famed Blue Lagoon to unwind and relax in the geothermal spa — one of the most visited sites in Iceland for swimming and bathing. Enjoy the spa’s rejuvenating qualities before exploring Reykjavik at your leisure the next day.

The following evening, embark on a nighttime city tour. Start with a visit to the Perlan glass dome for unforgettable sights from its 360° view of the city. Then, head to Reykjavik's seafront, the Hofdi building, Hallgrimskirkja church, the Reykjavik city center and the parliament building by the Austurvollur public square. Conclude your busy day at a local restaurant with a Viking-inspired meal — right down to the traditional serving trays!

What we love:
• Fed by the geothermal seawater from deep under the lava, the Blue Lagoon holds 1.5 million gallons (6 million liters) of water.
• The Hofdi building was the site of the historic summit between former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and USSR Secretary-General Mikhail Gorbachev in 1986.
• Reykjavik gets most of its energy from geothermal power, making it one of the greenest cities in the world.

Destination

Reykjavik is a popular destination not only for fans of Viking history and culture, but also for its impressive reputation as one of the cleanest, greenest and safest cities in the world. Visitors love to frequent the shops, restaurants and bars surrounding the Austurvollur public square, as well as the monumental church of Hallgrimur (also called Hallgrimskirkja), which is designed to resemble the lava flows of Iceland’s landscape.

Iceland delivers in spades when it comes to natural wonders. The nation is one of the best locations to view the northern lights, and the grand fjords are also a sight to behold. The majestic Gullfoss waterfall is a popular tourist draw, as are whale-watching excursions, which are widely available. The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of the most visited sites in Iceland for swimming and bathing.
