Venture from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji

Discover Hakone’s unrivaled natural surroundings, including magical Mt. Fuji, and the culinary delights only Japan can offer.

About Your Trip

Embark on a Japanese cultural journey from Tokyo to the mountains and back via the country’s famous bullet trains. In Hakone, stop at Nagaike Shinsui Park for views one of the most iconic and celebrated symbols of Japan, Mt. Fuji. Then, you’ll visit Oshino Hakkai, known for its 8 crystal-clear ponds fed by mountain lava-melted snow, resulting in waters so pure visitors can drink from the source. After lunch, continue to Mt. Fuji. This natural treasure has inspired artists and pilgrimages for centuries. At the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, situated roughly halfway up, you’ll marvel at arguably the best view of the summit, as well as the striking panorama of the Fuji Five Lakes area below. That evening, take advantage of leisure time at the hotel to revive your muscles in the soothing hot springs. The next day, you’ll board a relaxing cruise boat for breathtaking scenery of mountain-ringed Lake Ashi from the first-class cabin. Before returning to Tokyo by bullet train, learn the art of making wagashi, Japanese confections enjoyed with tea.

Wrap up your wonderful DreamTrip with a day of leisure, and exploring the city to your heart’s desire.

What we love:
• Immerse yourself in local culture on Day 2 as you indulge in a delicious kaiseki dinner. This multi-course meal is a special event and the epitome of Japanese haute cuisine, featuring fresh seasonal (and often local) ingredients that are meticulously prepared, artfully plated and served with hospitality.
• UNESCO added Mt. Fuji to its World Heritage site list in 2013 and recognizes 25 of the mountain’s localities as points of cultural interest.
• Your DreamTrip also includes ample free time in Tokyo to explore popular sites such as Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise-dori Street.

Destination

Tokyo is among the most popular metropolitan areas of the world and is the epicenter of Japanese culture. Ancient pagodas dot the spaces between stunning modern buildings and first-class boutique shopping. The city is known as the fashion capital of Japan — inhabitants are some of the trendiest in the country and the world. Tokyo has an active nightlife, featuring lively bars and clubs throughout its many districts. It claims more Michelin stars than any other city, a reflection of its outstanding culinary pedigree. Traditional cuisine includes many seafood-based dishes, thanks to the city’s bustling harbors and fishing industry.

Hakone is a small town in a mountainous region by Hakone Pass. It’s near the beautiful and volcanic Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, which feeds several relaxing hot springs in town. Visitors from all over the world enjoy the authentic feel that the small Japanese town provides and, in turn, vastly support the regional economy.
