About Your Trip

On this adults-only VolunTour in Sydney, show your Heart to Serve with WorldVentures Foundation™ and Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) as you help remodel an emergency center.

VolunTours are professionally planned, guided trips that put volunteers to work beautifying communities, building infrastructure and brightening the lives of children. You will participate in a child-serving project as you become immersed in the culture.

At a Glance:

• Violence against women is estimated to cost the nation’s economy 22 billion Australian dollars a year.
• WAGEC is a non-profit organization operating across Sydney. It offers bed accommodations and transitional properties for women and families seeking help during times of crisis.

Airfare is not included in the trip price! The closest commercial airport to the hotel is Sydney Airport (SYD), approximately 8 miles (13 kilometers). We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for any trip.

Round-trip airport transfers are included from:
Sydney Airport (SYD) to the hotel on December 6 at 4 p.m.
The hotel to Sydney Airport (SYD) on December 8 at 4 p.m.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at the airport and transfer to the hotel at 4 p.m.
Check into the hotel at any time after 1 p.m.
Noon – 5 p.m.: Visit the welcome table in the hotel lobby.
7 p.m.: Set-menu welcome dinner with 2 representatives of WAGEC at the hotel restaurant, Zeina’s Cafe.

Day 2

6:30-7:30 a.m.: Continental breakfast at Zeina’s Cafe.
8 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Full day of service at WAGEC; includes boxed lunch and transportation.
• 8 a.m.: Depart from the hotel and transfer to WAGEC.
• Spend time helping to remodel the facilities.
• Noon – 1 p.m.: Boxed lunch.
• Continue your volunteer activities.
• 3 p.m.: Return to the hotel.
The rest of the afternoon and early evening at your leisure. Dinner is at your own expense.
6:30-10 p.m.: Visit to Luna Park Sydney; includes admission ticket and transportation. See Additional Information for details and restrictions.
• 6:30 p.m.: Depart from the hotel and transfer to Luna Park Sydney, a heritage-listed amusement park.
• 7 p.m.: Arrive at Luna Park Sydney and time with some of the children from WAGEC.
• 10 p.m.: Return to the hotel.

Day 3

6:30-7:30 a.m.: Continental breakfast at Zeina’s Cafe.
8 a.m. – noon: Half day of service at WAGEC; includes transportation.
• 8 a.m.: Depart from the hotel and transfer to WAGEC.
• Continue helping to remodel the facilities.
• Noon: Return to the hotel.
Check out of the hotel.
1:15-4 p.m.: Sydney Harbour sightseeing cruise; includes transportation. See Additional Information for details and restrictions.
• 1:15 p.m.: Depart from the hotel and transfer to the harbor.
• Spend some time on your own looking around Circular Quay with a break for lunch. Lunch is at your own expense.
• 2:35 p.m.: Board a boat at No. 6 Jetty at Circular Quay for your cruise of Sydney Harbour.
• 2:45-3:45 p.m.: Sightseeing cruise of Sydney Harbour.
• 4 p.m.: Transfer to the airport.

Luna Park excursion:
This activity includes admission to the park. Please be aware that tickets for rides, plus, games, food, souvenirs etc. may be purchased at your own expense.
• Adult tickets for unlimited rides are available for 57 Australian dollars.

Sydney Harbour cruise:
• 1-hour sightseeing cruise via air-conditioned catamaran with a fully licensed bar. Drinks are not included and may be purchased at your own expense.
• We recommend that you wear casual, comfortable shoes. High heels are not permitted.
• We recommend that you bring a jacket in case of cooler weather on the water.
• Highlights include Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and The Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney.

Policies

Cancellation Policy*: If you cancel 91 days or more before the start date of your trip, you’ll get a refund of the amount you paid for the trip less a fee of US$50. If you cancel between 46 and 90 days before the start date of your trip, you’ll get a refund less a fee of US$100. If you cancel within 45 days of the start date of your trip, your trip will not be refunded. All fees are applicable on a per-person basis.

*This cancellation policy is subject to rules and regulations in applicable jurisdictions in which our travel supplier is based. Therefore, in the event of conflict between the cancellation policy displayed here and cancellation terms in supplier booking terms, the provisions of the booking terms will prevail.


Name Change Policy: Name changes must be done no later than November 4 and are subject to a US$50 name change fee. Name changes after this date are not allowed.

Hotel/resort credits and/or discounts cannot be converted to cash, and any not used during your stay will expire immediately upon your departure. Member is responsible for paying any taxes that may be added to items purchased with hotel/resort credit.

In the unfortunate event that an activity or excursion is no longer available, we will substitute a similar activity of equal or greater value.

Make sure that your passport and visa, if applicable, are up-to-date before you leave!
It’s important to double check that you have all the identification and other documentation required by the specific country you’re traveling to. In many countries, passports and visas must be valid for 6 months or longer after the trip end date. If you are unable to obtain the required identification and other documentation, the Cancellation Policy for this VolunTour will apply.

Make sure that you request a name change or room change at least 31 or more days before the 1st day of your trip. Due to contractual supplier policies, we may not be able to confirm requested name or room changes to existing bookings for trips that are scheduled to travel within 30 days of your request.

Each individual, including each child, who is coming along with you on your VolunTour is required to have a booking prior to the commencement of the trip. If you do not book and pay for each such person in advance of the trip, you will be charged the hotel’s then-current rate, not the trip price, for each such person at the time of your check-in.

Pricing for children is based on their age at the time of travel and may be subject to additional terms and conditions of individual hotels and all-inclusive resorts. Also, pricing for children can vary, and may be higher than pricing for adults. Therefore, before you book any travel, please check the relevant hotel or resort website for applicable terms and conditions as well as details regarding their pricing structure.
