Be a catalyst for change in the lives of Guatemalan village children by helping construct a local, eco-friendly school.
About Your Trip
Commonly referred to as “Guate,” Guatemala City is the capital and major hub of the country. A place where towering skyscrapers stand tall over aged cathedrals, Guatemala City plays host to a modern and contemporary culture, but there is plenty of history here. Mayan artifacts and archeological wonders enrich the city’s already diverse culture. And, home to some of Guatemala’s best museums and galleries, visitors can find museums full of both indigenous and modern art, underground markets, botanical gardens and more.
Work side by side with the WorldVentures Foundation, the local community and Guatemalan village children as you build a much-needed school that could just change their lives—as well as your own. Using plastic bottles filled with inorganic trash, you’ll form walls with chicken wire and cement, ultimately constructing classrooms where the children will be able to learn and expand their horizons. But, it won’t be all work and no play! You’ll also get to explore the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage City of Antigua, enjoy a community hike to learn more about the culture, visit ancient Mayan ruins and more.
